Sara Womble's performances have been reviewed as "luminous," (The Boston Globe), "beguiling" (Opera News), possessing "clarity and ethereal quality" (Boston Musical Intelligencer), and "a revelation, singing freely, with power when called upon" (Classical Voice America).

Sara is a Boston Lyric Opera Emerging Artist alumna. Based in Boston, she enjoys an ongoing relationship with her hometown opera company, where she created the leading role of A Girl in the world premiere of Tod Machover's Schoenberg in Hollywood. Her other roles with the company include Lucia in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia, Barbarina/Susanna cover in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, and the Shepherd Boy in Puccini's Tosca. She was slated to cover Cleopatra in BLO's production of Handel's Giulio Cesare, and to sing the Dew Fairy and cover Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel. Both were unfortunately canceled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sara has a particular affinity for Mozart. Most recently, she sang Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Opera Neo, as well as Pamina in the company's full virtual production of Die Zauberflöte. Also with Opera Neo, has sung Ilia in Idomeneo, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni.
